Sighting evidence at Xygia Reef, Zakynthos

Conger eels inhabit the larger rocky crevices and sulphur-spring vents at Xygia, emerging at night to feed on fish and crustaceans across the surrounding reef. They can reach 2 metres and are a perennial favourite with wide-angle photographers during night dives when they are most active.
