Sighting evidence at Los Lobos — El Puertito Channel

The channel's sandy margins on the Los Lobos side shelter resting angel sharks from October through May, at depths between 12 and 18 m. Drift divers exiting the main current into the calmer eddy zone behind Los Lobos' northern tip regularly encounter two to four individuals resting within a 50 m radius — a density that reflects the marine reserve's effectiveness at providing undisturbed habitat for this critically endangered species.
